Father's day is a square on the calendar that brings out several mixed emotions for me.
At its core, Father's Day is a day for celebrating. All of us celebrate differently. Celebration does not always equal jubilation.
This year, I celebrate my first year as my father-in-law's daughter-in-law with joy and gratitude. I celebrate both of my godfathers with appreciation and admiration. I celebrate my grandfathers with pride and determination. And...
I celebrate my dad for the second year when I can not present him with a card and an open hug. Instead, I celebrate him with reverence, sorrow, deep belly laughing, and a hug big enough to span the sky so I know he will get it.
Love to all fathers this Father's Day. You all are so loved and valued.
Prepare, don't panic.
