Day 176: Flu shots-how to donate a shot to a child in need!

Today Alex and I went to get our flu shots at our local Walgreens pharmacy. We decided to go there for our shots this year for a couple of reasons. First, I have an awesome team at my pharmacy and have used the same location both growing up and now that I have moved back to the area--they know us and our medical conditions really well. Second, Walgreens is a part of the "Give a Shot, Get a Shot" movement that is more important than ever this year!

We know that with COVID-19 circulating at the same time as the flu, it is incumbent on all of us to protect ourselves against as much disease as possible to help ease the healthcare burden. Although we made an appointment, at least three people walked up during the time we were there with no appointment and all five of us were done in a 15 minute time frame.

Wherever you choose to get your shot this year, please do not delay! There are already some cases starting to circulate in our area with kids headed back to in-person learning. It is a quick, nearly-painless process to protect you, your community, and give back to someone who would not otherwise have access to a shot. Thank you from me to you for doing your part to help us all have the healthiest fall possible! :)

Prepare, don't panic,

-Allison
