While we wish some of the big ticket items in our life right now were April Fool's jokes, we did not let the third week of medical quarantine get us down. This morning, I woke up to this image of my husband:
I am so lucky that this sweet guy's idea of an April Fool's "prank" is to dress up like a silly viking and make me breakfast. Quarantine April Fool's is the way to go.
I decided to make my prank a fun one too-during one of Alex's classes, I setup his phone so I could play my Spotify music full blast remotely from my computer upstairs (don't worry, all family friendly music from The Charlie Brown Movie!) during the last few minutes of his lesson. He and the kids thought it was hilarious. A fun distraction, but not too distracting. ;)
We are trying to be gentle with ourselves since we have been going full tilt the last several days. THis has led to reading, both in quiet time alone, and reading out loud before bed. We are now on the second Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets.
Mostly we are going to take a leaf out of ROry's book today and give ourselves the space we need to find some ease. Move around ust enough to get comfortable, and, as my friend Adriene says, "find what feels good."
For now, I am going to allow myself a little more time on the news sites (be informed, not inundated) and then gear up to watch Iliza Shlesinger's new special that was released today. I hope you all find some fun and funny pranks to share at home, or with loved ones virtually!
Prepare, don't panic.
