I'm not gonna lie, friends. It's a struggle where we are right now.
Our state's daily number of new COVID-19 cases shot up from.a steady 1000-1500 per day for most of the summer and early fall until mid-October to now the beginning of November. WIthin a matter of a month, out daily case counts crept to 2000, then leapfrogged over 2500 to 3000 two weeks ago...last week we sa daily numbers of 4000+ and today we hit the grim milestone of more than 5500 with no sign of a plateau in site.
This is really concerning as now all 88 counties of Ohio meet criteria for CDC "high incidence." While we knew there would be a surge as both colder weather and flu season approached, it seems that this surge may be much more brutal than the first with hospitals already beginning to overfill and outpatient visits sky-rocketing.
With so many new cases (and all the exposures that come with more cases) my work schedule has been anything but regular. I feel so thankful to be on a team that values each other and has a definitive "team player" mindset. Let us all be team players as the cold weather begins to bring us indoors and continue best practices whether it be using a face covering, washing hands, or physical distancing.
We cannot afford to dehumanize this innately human experience and we are truly all in this together, Ohio.
