Day 55: Tuesdays with Allie

Please forgive me for missing my usual post yesterday...it has been a long time since I delved so deep into a book that I re-read it cover to cover in one day, which as it turns out, happened yesterday with all 344 pages of Mike Chen's Here and Now and Then. If you haven't read it, well...I highly recommend it.

When the world feels hard to understand, or painful to be a part of, we are so lucky we can turn our minds and imaginations to books, movies, and other forms of time travel from our own living room.

What books are you reading or thinking of reading? It had been so long for me since I had read a book just for fun--to anyone who has the time right now, what would salve your soul? Something in the fiction realm, with characters you already you know and love that might be comforting right now? Perhaps a new book, with new friends to meet? Or maybe it is a piece of nonfiction from a different period of history with messages of resilience, of strength. Maybe it is just a few lines from a cookbook for a meal tonight.

What does your spirit need to read right now?

Prepare, don't panic.

-Allison
